Ghost Recon: Future Soldier: How to Kill the 2 VIPs in the Last Mission Shattered Mountain
I beat the campaign for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on veteran difficulty last night. A full review will be coming soon! The game wasn’t too difficult other than a few missions that I had to do over a few times. The last mission on Shattered Mountain however was a bit harder than expected and took multiple attempts. You are required to take out the last two VIP targets who are on the run. The tricky part is that you really can’t take your time and use stealth like previous. You basically have to constantly be advancing and chase them down quickly while also battling various hence men, guards and spec ops who block your path. Take too much time in the fire fights, the targets get too far from you and the mission fails.
After multiple attempts, I think I figured out the best way to do it:
- Take out the first VIP as soon as possible. If you can target him quickly and sometimes, it’s even easier if you hit the right bumper when targeting him to focus fire on him. That way, if you are in cover getting fired on/suppressed, one of your teammates can take out the VIP for you.
- Don’t spend too much time in fire fights. If you do, the targets will flee too far and escape failing the mission. Keep an eye on the distance tracker on screen. You may be forced to jump out and rush towards the target sooner than you want to.
- Once you take out the first VIP, rush towards the 2nd VIP as soon as possible. If you can, even ignore the enemies and run past them to reach the next checkpoint. Equip the shotgun for any close quarter combat situations to ensure you get quick 1 shot kills. Once you reach a new checkpoint, the autosave will kick in and even if you die, you restart back at the checkpoint.
