Video Game Resolutions 2013

2012 was an ok year for games. Not that there wasn’t a lot of games to buy. There are and there are a bunch I’d still like to pick up. I just mean that the games that came out last year weren’t as impressive as 2011 with all it’s stellar releases from Q4. I even spent most of last year playing Skyrim and I’m still not done with it. It’s a new year with lots to look forward to since we survived an apocalypse. Oops, I mean the end of a calendar.

The Game Plan

Write More Anything!

I’ve been EXTREMELY busy the past little bit with the slew of games, my weight loss goals and weight training and my dual jobs. It’s been hard to find time to write a review or tips or even complete my Best and Worst of 2012 segment. I’ve actually reached my weight goal and set a new one since I know I can do more. Once that is done and I’m just maintaining my weight, then hopefully I will be able to write more and provide our readers with more views about the games and the industry. Also since I bought my girlfriend an Ipad I’d like to start reviewing some Ipad games and perhaps some comparisons with the Iphone version.

Buy a Recording device for Gameplay

Recording my gameplay for Hawken was simple because there’s lots of recording software out there for PC. I don’t have anything yet and I was planning on picking up the Hauppauge HD PVR 2 that Hockey Glory reviewed until I saw his update and decided to look elsewhere. I have since forgotten to pick up one but this will be on my list to get one this year.

The Backlog!

Some backlog

Some backlog

I have a few games I’m still yet to play and some I want to replay or buy DLC for. The games I have that I haven’t started yet are Heavy Rain, Deadly Premonition, Star Ocean: The Last Hope and The GunStringer. Star Ocean is a game I’m a little terrified to start because I already know it’s a long game and I’m the type of person that loves to do all the side quests so this is kind of for a rainy set of days. Other games I have beaten but still intend to play are Dragon’s Dogma, Sleeping Dogs, Skyrim, The Walking Dead and Assassin’s Creed 3. There’s some interesting Sleeping Dogs and Assassin’s Creed 3 DLC I’d like to try out along with the last DLC for Skyrim. Also I’d like to go through Skyrim again a different type of character and do the 2 major side quest I wasn’t able to do last year. For The Walking Dead I’d like to play through it again seeing what happens when I decide to play it differently and the outcomes of my new decisions. Some other backlog games are ones I still want to buy that I missed out on last year like Far Cry 3, Journey, and Boarderlands 2.

Come with a Game Plan!

I started going to conventions a few years ago and fell in love with them. Hopefully at this year’s FanExpo 2013 we can plan out some things we want to cover and get some great footage and perhaps some interviews as well. There is a Toronto ComiCon hosted by FanExpo coming up this March that I will be attending and if there’s any Trekkies reading this then you’ll be excited to know the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation will be there.

Next!

What’s up for this year. Games on my 2013 hit list are:

Alien: Colonial Marines *

BioShock Infinite ***

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate (why does it need 2 subtitles)

Crysis 3

Dead Space 3 *

DmC

Gears of War Judgement

Grand Theft Auto V

Metal Gear: Rising Revengeance *

Ni No Kuni

The Last of Us ***

Tomb Raider **

* = Excitement lvl

However what got me hooked was this game I remember playing called Ghost House. I used to be hardcore achievement hunter but nowadays I just try to get what I c ...read more
