KontrolFreek was kind enough to send us GamerVets the Fps Freek Call of Duty Heritage thumbsticks. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would have heard and seen by now the latest Call of Duty WWII reveal trailer. This time, we are going old school and returning to boots on the ground combat based in World War 2. The Fps Freek Call of Duty Heritage are CoD: WWII-themed performance thumbsticks.
I’ve been using KontrolFreek thumb sticks since back in the Xbox 360 days. As I have wrote in the past, I personally believe they improve your overall game play, especially in first person shooters where accuracy and quick targeting is the difference between life an death. I gave the new FPS Freek Call of Duty Heritage thumbsticks a whirl playing both Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Black Ops3 with my usual Friday night old guys crew.

First impressions: they are comfortable and easy to use. They are more subdued as both the right and left are just the same grey color. My original KontrolFreeks that I own are the Gamer Pack Signature thumbsticks with green left thumbstick convex and shorter than the right black concave thumbstick. The FPS Freek Call of Duty Heritage thumbsticks are both concave which I actually found much better to play with. I probably would have never known the difference if I didn’t have both types with me.

The biggest difference and improvement that I noticed is the extra circular grooves which helped with the grip and overall precision.
- Looks pretty cool with the star centre
- The outer circle has distinct cut grooves that give more control and less likely hood of thumb slipping
- Both right and left are concave
- Relatively low price for improved performance
- If already own KontrolFreeks, there’s not a huge incentive to buy these as a replacement
If you don’t already own a set of KontrolFreeks already, you can’t go wrong with picking up the Fps Freek Call of Duty Heritage. It’s a small cost to pay to help improve your game play. Trust me it’s worth it.
