Update 2 (Jan 5, 2013):
Had this thing on Craigslist for months. Started high at $450 (like just about everyone else) and slowly chipped it down $25 at a time. I had one offer by a jackass who wanted to trade me Sony sound gear.
I had it at $350 at one time. No takers. So I decided to refund it as tomorrow is the last day to ditch it. I knew it wasn’t looking good as I didn’t even get low ball offers from people trying to feel out sellers. And I saw lots of stock at stores. While walking around Walmart over the past month, they had tons of Wii U’s in their glass case (at least 20). Even during Boxing Week there were tons. You’d think people would be scooping up Wii U’s during bargain week as people have money to spend from gifts. Nope.
Either the demand isn’t there or Nintendo had so much supply out there anyone could get one. I’m thinking the prior. Wii U doesn’t seem to have the sizzle and hype like Wii. And their games seem mediocre. No better than 360/PS3 games.
Update (Nov 20, 2012):
What I previously wrote (Sept 26, 2012):
Thanks to evilenger for giving me his online $50 off pre-order code for Wii U. And no shipping charge! So it comes to $250 before tax. After checking Future Shop everyday for a week, their online store finally allowed me to pre-order one. Before today, any time I checked out the Wii U pages, the option to select one for the cart was greyed out.
Unfortunately, they didn’t allow pre-orders for the deluxe bundle. Only the basic package is available some reason. The deluxe package page isn’t even available to see anymore!?!?
Will I keep it? Will I sell it for profit? Who knows! I smell a Craigslist or Kijiji post coming. Hahaha!
